Yesterday

The Tajik aluminum plant was built by the whole Soviet country. The building was considered the pride of the country. The building complex included several major objects of the country - Nurek Hydro Power Plant, the largest in Central Asia, the Tajik Aluminum Plant, Vakhsh Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant, Javan Chemical Plant, Dushanbe Cement Plant and others. Power station generated electric energy and the aluminum plant produced metal that met the requirements of domestic industry, strengthening, thus, the country's economy and defense. The complex, which was later named as the South Tajik Territorial-Production Complex, became a basis of socio-economic development of the country.
